Will a speeding ticket in Maine carry points in NC?

I got a speeding ticket in the State of Maine (75 mph in 55 mph zone), will this carry points to my record in the NC DMV?

What about insurance?

Thanks,

Agustin.|||As of 2005 it is a fed. requirement. But it also depends on the state, in your case, Yes, Me. will report it to N.C.

Here is some more info on the subject:

Sorry Rock but you are not correct, the company I work for does work through out North America. I can a-test that while it will take a while the ticket will show up. Our on-the-road workers have received tickets (speeding, parking, Etc.) from Conn., Mass., Me., N.H. and numerous other states over the years. 15 yrs ago this was not a problem, but now is as it affects who can drive company vehicles.|||Actually no. Although you need to take care of whatever monetary fines you received for the ticket (that will show up as a warrant if you don't), the actual point system in each state is its own entity. In other words, a ticket you got in Maine will not affect your insurance in NC. You're going to get a lot of bad guesses on this question but trust me, that is the case. The point system in the US is not statewide, the points in the states are of their own accord, almost each state has a whole different system, especially on the East Coast.|||Call your local DMV and ask them the laws and regulation for new residence with a license previous from out of state (when it comes to the points on your license). Now insurance is a different issue.. most insurance companies will raise your insurance or give higher rates for a new policy due to a speeding ticket no matter what state it came from. But on a positive note.. most insurance will give you a discount for taking a traffic school class. Call your insurance company and find out.
