NC DMV driving test How to back up?

i want to know hen you are backing up during the test where they make you go to a road and do a 3 Point turn and then backup do u just look through your rear view mirror or can you turn around and put your hand on the seat and look that way i wanna ace the test so thanks!!!|||Use your mirrors instead.
