Is there anyway to register a car over the phone or by mail without having to go to the dmv?

My car is registered in nc, but now i live in sc, and need to register the car here. is there anyway i can do this while avoiding going to the dmv as i hate that place with a passion?|||so does 300 million americans You Have to go they have to inspect the vin in the window and see if it's been tampered with and inspect the vehicle condition as well some states require smog tests and you will have to have that as well suck it up and just do it. If I can't get out of it you can't either and of course you must have a new drivers license for the new state which means a picture taking, Have a birth certificate or a passport to back up your I.D. it is the new law. So get off your Duff and do it it sucks but ya gotta do it or get a heavy fine and a ticket causing your insurance to go up. You may try calling and see if they will make a appointment some DMV's will do that so you don't have to wait.|||Probably not as you have to sign paperwork, possibly surrender the old license plate, and usually they will want to check car and verify VIN on it. You hate it with a passion, and I can understand that, but you'll just have to suck it up and go.|||When you register a vehicle in a state for the first time they will need to physically inspect the VIN # on the vehicle. You need to take it there in person.|||No it is just part of life you have to go to the DMV. LOL
